Atlantic Tennessee & Ohio Railroad
The AT&O’s Intended route when it was chartered in was from Charlotte NC to the Ohio River. Through Statesville NC, Coffey Gap into Tennessee. Down Watauga River to Jonesborough TN, through Moccasin Gap VA. Following Big Sandy River in Kentucky to the Ohio River.
This initial information is only a placeholder. Much more will be added in the days ahead about the Atlantic Tennessee & Ohio Railroad and the other lines that tried to connect the Ohio River to the Atlantic Ocean across the Appalachian Mountains.
